I didn't start a diary earlier as we had some early problems with dummy delivery which took quite a while to get better, and I had to actually teach a 'hold'.
So, at the moment Dot can:
- walk to heel nicely both on and off the lead (in a variety of terrains)
- stay
- be steady to dummies thrown around her
- recall (from sit and free play)
- sit to whistle at close range
- do short marks in cover and memory marks taking a line
- do short double marks
I have also taught her 'back'.
Yesterday we started on 'left/right' commands, along a hedge. Did a couple each side and then tried with both the right and the left out there. Got one wrong, so simplified again to consolidate.
Did about 8-9 in all (mostly correct) and will repeat again today.
At the moment, she seems like quite a biddable, sensitive little dog. She is fast but not 'hot'. i.e. she doesn't get 'on her marks' for a retrieve.
Oh, but she did try and chase her first rabbit yesterday!
