hi does anyone no i the gundog trainer tom west is still up or around perthshire..last i heard he was living near to the invercauld Estate... i was speaking to a lady that go's to my shoot whos looking for a trainer up that way.. tom trained my lab a few years ago... so i said i would try to find out where he is now adays for her

Pointers and Dove

After having such success with a bumper and with quail hunting, I took my 1yr old GSP dove hunting today. However whenever I sent him to make a retrieve, he would pick up the dove and drop it whenever I asked him to bring it back. I have heard that some bird dogs do not like the fur/feathers on a dove because they are so fine. I was wondering if this is true and if there is any way to fix it.

hi i have around 2000 to spend on a 4x4 what 4x4s give you the best mpg?? looking at 2 right now

Hey guys,

I am trying to learn more about the field spaniel. I saw a photo of one and now I have to have one!

Does anyone have an idea how much these dogs cost? I can't find any prices on the net. My gut feeling tells me they are going to be very expensive though. I just want one for a companion!

This years Retriever Championships

I hope to be going to this trial on Tuesday of next week, Monday and Wednesday probably being out due to picking up committments.

I haven't been to the Championships for many years and I am looking forward to seeing at first hand the standards now compared to a couple of decades ago.

If anyone else from here happens to be there too, I will be easily recognised ..........I'll be the auld geezer with a few inside him, happily pontificating to anyone stupid enough to...

We were training a 11mon old black lab she weights about 50 lbs. We were out in the middle of a large field the pup had stopped on whistle when the pup was swooped by 2 very large Harris hawks. They got with in 2 feet above the dog.
Des, thought you would like this. Are you still doing chicken hawks????

Brought Paddy our new cocker pup home on Thursday, along with the usual documentation, kennel club certificate, docking certificate, microchip details and some food. He travelled home in a soft bed at the side of me on the back seat, 200 miles and good as gold. Only 1 small 'wee' in the car and he managed to do this on a puppy pad so no problem. Since arriving home things have gone better than I could have hoped for. The crate is in the lounge to start with to build up his confidence...

Well just setting here waiting for the big blow, Molly. Just off the coast about 130 miles out in the gulf. The cats are not to be found and both dogs in the house with us. The lab pup is pacing the floor like something is going to happen?? The storm is to be a level 1 or maybe 2. At this time nobody knows. It is to take 12 to 19 hours to pass over the area. Mostly rain with wind. Well post results tomorrow.
